Thaden Field was awarded the “Most Acclaimed Organizer Worldwide Award” by the Institute for Women of Aviation Worldwide in recognition of their Women of Aviation Week events last month.
This award is given to the organizer who hosts a registered WOAW activity welcoming at least 50 girls of all ages and receives the highest average review rating as reported by guests and volunteers. Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts and community members at large attended Thaden Field’s hangar party on March 9 in celebration of Women of Aviation Week. Attendees enjoyed refreshments, games and activities, and had an opportunity to get inside aircraft and talk to the pilots who fly them.
